Finding Your Herd

Last year, I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Play Your Position podcast with Mary Lou Kayser. During the show, I spoke a lot about the importance of finding your herd and thriving together.

I’ve always been a coach at my core and love helping others thrive. One question I always ask others is “what is your personal definition of thriving, and are you doing it?” You should feel passionate, powerful, and excited every day with your work, and making sure you choose the right future leaders for your company is a vital part of that.

When evaluating what compels you to go to work every day and what thriving means to you, ask yourself these three questions:

  1. What do you want to be?
  2. What do you want to do?
  3. What do you want to have?

By answering these three questions, you’ll gain clarity into what type of herd you want to run with and find keys to what thriving means to you.

I’ve always believed that you have the herd you deserve, so make sure you are choosing a herd where culture matters and everyone is compelled to come to work every day bringing their best.
