3 Ways to Keep Your Employees Motivated

When most bosses or CEOs think of keeping employees motivated, they assume pay increases, bonuses, or other financial rewards are the key to motivation. While nobody is ever going to turn down more money, a company needs to have more in place to keep their employees engaged, motivated, and satisfied.

Being happy and fulfilled in the workplace almost always depends more on the intangibles as opposed to financial rewards. These intangibles include: feeling like you are part of a team, feeling valued and important, and feeling appreciated by your boss and the company, just to name a few.

If you find yourself regularly complaining about your employees lack of enthusiasm and motivation, then follow the recommendations below and I bet you’ll be surprised at the results!

  1. Give your employees what they need.

Don’t ever assume that your employees have everything they need to be successful in their job. Follow up with them on a regular basis to find out if they need any additional tools or resources to help them perform at a higher level.

  1. Praise your employees regularly.

All too often this only happens on a yearly basis during an employee’s review. Don’t wait until a formal review to give praise to your employees, but create a culture that offers positive feedback and encouragement on a regular basis. This doesn’t mean that you’ll never give negative feedback, but just make sure that that’s not the only feedback your employees are receiving!

  1. Keep your employees engaged.

Employees will always be more motivated when they feel actively engaged in the planning and decision-making process. Give your employees the freedom to make decisions and truly feel that their input is valuable.

Creating a positive work environment where employees are given what they need to succeed, are praised for their good work, and are actively engaged will always pay off for your company in the long run.
