Learning As You Go

As the boss bull, you can’t always expect to be perfect. A key part of being a good leader is your willingness to grow, learn and change when necessary. Personally, on most days, I am still that bull in the china shop. I am always working on rounding out my edges.

When I don’t fulfill a capability, that’s always going to rub me the wrong way, and you know what? That’s ok. Because that discomfort can push me to improve and grow so that next time, I can fulfill that capability.

A good question to ask yourself, even as the boss, is where’s my company going and what is my role in that? Yes, you may be the boss, but what are your specific roles in the company and what do you bring to work every day? Continually evaluate your company’s vision, values, expectations and engagement to help you determine what your company is today, and what you want it to be 5 years from now. We are all learning as we go and a boss is no different – embrace the growth process and the change that can come with it if you allow it.

Lead Boldy. Succeed Brilliantly.

Leadership is not just a role. It’s continuous journey of growth and impact.
